Guardian Behavioral Health Foundation offers low- or no-cost mental health services to the community to get help for everyone who needs it.
Obtaining Free Mental Health Services
Low cost or free mental health services can begin once you contact us. Communicating with us is a safe, secure process, whether you get in touch by phone or by email. You will be put in touch with a mental health professional who can talk to you about your basic needs and concerns, as well as answer any questions you might have. At this stage, you can arrange for a one-on-one consultation with one of our case managers. Congratulations – you’ve taken the first step towards recovery! Sometimes it is the most difficult one to take.
During your confidential consultation, one of our trained staff will meet with you to get an in-depth understanding of your mental health history. Together, you can walk through all of the available options and discuss how we can help you access low cost or free mental health services that best meet your individual needs. This consultation includes a mental health screening to assess and identify the mental health issues you are dealing with. Finally, we can identify the degree of financial barriers that have prevented you and your family from getting treatment in the past and determine how we can overcome them in the future.
Care coordination and linkage is an important part of our free mental health services. After assessing and identifying your mental health needs, your specially appointed care coordinator can draw up a plan for how to meet those needs. He or she will create a service plan and match you with the best possible service providers for your situation. At this point, Guardian Behavioral Health Foundation can provide the financial support needed to pay for these services on your behalf.
Mental health treatment is not an individual problem; it affects the whole family. We encourage family involvement throughout the process of seeking free mental health services. We also offer resources like free mental health support groups, which can help your loved ones learn more about mental illness. These support groups are full of information about how they can help, as well as providing an outlet for them to talk about how they are affected. Together, we hope to improve the lives of everyone affected by mental illness.
